A Letter from Producer
Hi guys, I'm K.Ghost, the producer of ZOZ: Final Hour. It's an honor to be introducing this new game that's about to be ready for testing.
If you've seen the trailer released last week, perhaps you're already eager to try it out in the ZOZ world. In ZOZ, you'll assume the role of a mercenary and drop in the zombie-filled city San Yager, with one single goal of evacuating there after collecting enough Blood Crystal. Blood Crystal can be attained by killing special zombie the Incubator, or grabbing from other fruitful fellow Mercs. The multiplayer PVPVE gameplay offers adrenaline-pumping shooting adventures. Are you already champing at the bit to get started after hearing all these?
Without further ado, let's see some in-game footage and get a sense of the city of San Yager.
With a self-developed game engine, ZOZ achieves dynamic and realistic light and shadow effects in the game by simulating real city design and applying next-generation rendering technology, for the purpose of enhancing realism and immersiveness of the game. To further differentiate itself from other games in the zombie genre, ZOZ has optimized the zombie's AI performance to make their behavior smarter and more challenging for players. Be sure to watch your surrounding during the game, or you might get boxed in by zombie hordes. In that case, running seems like a pretty smart choice, huh?
Just like you guys, many members of our development team are fans of shooting games, some are devoted players of Resident Evil, Overwatch, Call of Duty, and the like. We always aim to make a great product as these games, so a lot of effort and innovation were put in the development that lasted for 2 years.
Then we have the design of game mechanics. We don't want the ZOZ to simply become a "shoot-off" competition, instead we're hoping to offer more strategic choices for players in a single game. We want to make a game that even a shooting noob can enjoy. In ZOZ, you can invite someone to be your teammate at anytime. But watch your back, they might turn on you. If you're paying attention to the characteristics of different plots, you can find the most suitable "easy-to-defend-and-hard-to-attack" places for evacuation. Use various tactical equipment wisely may turn the tide of a losing battle.
Usually in a competitive game, death means the end. If you're unfortunate enough to get killed shortly after dropping, there's nothing you can do but start a new game. We think that kind of punishment is too severe and frustrating, and started to figure out a way to beat the death mechanic. And, voila! The mechanic of turning into a Zombie Merc—i.e. the once prey becomes the predator—is born.(laugh) In ZOZ, when you're killed as a Merc, you can turn into a Zombie Merc and continue to play the game, with a changed goal of preventing other players from evacuation. Think about it, to form a zombie legion with your fellow zombie teammates and hijack a helicopter, isn't that exciting?
In addition to the above mentioned, we've hidden a lot of Easter eggs in the game. We will not spoil it here. ZOZ is still in the development stage, some parts of it may not be perfect, but we believe this is a game that can really surprise you. Looking forward to have someone who enjoy the adventure and excitement with us in the upcoming CBT and provide us with valuable feedback.
